Moose was perfectly fine with petting and photography from intimate distances.
Sophie's yawn does not denote boredom or indifference - when I moved a step closer, she slipped off to the side.
However, she allowed me to catch her in this moment of repose when I observed the precise limit of her comfort perimeter.

Obviously they each trusted you to some degree -- and why wouldn't they?
ReplyDeleteYou should come meet my furry overlords sometime.
A cat may gaze upon a king, and all that, huh?
DeleteWell, cats also stare down mice...
DeleteI haven't witnessed that, thought they just played with them after they caught them. Hmmm...
DeleteMight you be thinking of scientists? (i.e., playing around with mice?)
DeleteI hope that in most current research situations, scientists are pretty careful to treat lab mice humanely, and don't play around with them carelessly (which cats have been known to do), though I'm sure that's not universal, and many animals have been mistreated by the human variety. Now as for scientists staring down mice...maybe the CIA has done experiments to go with the goat staring...no, wait, that was a comedy film, folks, not real.
DeleteOh, they are both so cute!! You captured a variety of expressions so beautifully!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Cats can be inscrutable or obvious, and either way they're beautiful.
DeleteMoose has quite the sexy snarl
DeleteHis lopsided face is fascinating. Cool little guy!
