I will have to get Ziva to a dog park with a large area where she can safely run and I can safely try to keep up some of the time with a camera in hand. So far, we do our travels with her on a leash and me on the other end of it. This does mean that I have an incentive to speed walk and occasionally jog or even sprint. The wild part is that if I run quickly, Ziva hears and feels it, and she will sometimes turn in mid-stride to leap at me. Evidently my running, instead of pulling back on the leash, is an indication that I want to play and roughhouse the way friendly dogs do with each other.
So, the action photos will have to wait for a suitable time. Meanwhile, after some exercise it's not too difficult to find Ziva relaxing while still alert, taking a short nap (dreams can begin within seconds of eye closure), then returning immediately to full attention.
