Ziva at home, at rest

Here are two portraits of Ziva at home.  I was on my way out the door, headed for work, when she struck a pose quite similar to the black dog in the oil painting behind her.

[iPhone 5s]

After an athletic workout, she dreamed happily.  There's residual red-brown mud on her black muzzle.  Ziva was a diggy dog!  I shot this (in very dim light) from a distance of about 4 meters, so there's an effect of telephoto compression (which actually results from the distant perspective).

ZZZZ time for Ziva

Children may need to be told when it's time for bed, but pet dogs don't seem to hesitate to sack out whenever they feel the need for zzzz  The only question is whether to nap at the spot where they last parked to observe a human companion, move to one of the soft way stations that have been provided for them at strategic intersections between rooms, or travel all the way across the house to the bedroom.  Nope, that last option isn't going to happen until said human also moves in that direction.  Canine satellites can even orbit while they sleep.

Dog on a platter

Here are three iPhone shots of Ziva, two sleeping in a comfy place, looking a bit like a dog on a platter.

And here I caught her emerging from an exploration under a chair, where she had been completely hidden, but fortunately not completely inaudible.  As I write  this, Ziva is creating her own musical compositions with a chew toy, a rubber pig that emits lower pitched sounds than most of the "squeaky" toys on the market.  Ziva has figured out how to get a range of pitches, volumes, rhythms and timbres by using her feet, her muzzle, and her teeth.  At some point I'll have to do a video with sound of one of her performances.

A great dog up for adoption!

This afternoon I enjoyed doing some photos of a sweet dog who has been rescued from a less than ideal environment. She has received medical treatment and love from a foster parent, and is going to make a great companion for the right person/people. If you might be ready to provide a permanent home, please email me at maclensweasel1@me.com and I will put you in touch with the right people.

In any case, I think you may enjoy watching this little (well, medium sized) canine gamboling around the park.
