Rainy Day. Dreary? No Way!

A lot of rain has fallen around the area today.  The light this morning made things look dreary, but a closer look at leaves, pine needles and raindrops gave a cheerier view.

Ziva is not a dog who shies from wet weather (or cold), so off we went.  The river (Crabtree Creek) was running high.

The puddles were a mix of murky mud and reflected trees and sky.

Here's a 20 second vid that might give a glimpse at Ziva's enjoyment of any chance to frolic in water.

  1. I'm not sure why the video isn't playing correctly. It looks as if about one out of each 6 or 8 frames is running. Looks like an animated GIF instead of a video!

  2. Regardless, it effectively conveys the message: she's a happy dog, regardless of the weather. She's a good role model for all of us.

    1. We went out in the drizzle again this afternoon. Unfortunately, we couldn't get on the Greenway, as the city had closed both entrances that we can reach without driving or walking unsafe city streets. Still got in some good hill climbing, though!

  3. I was happy the video ran like an animated GIF because I can't watch videos at work (shh...don't tell anyone that I try!)! You are a very generous owner (not sure what the right word is...) to let her play in water!! I'm impressed at the superb photos you took yesterday...it was a deluge out there!! Gorgeous details and colors in your photos! Impressive, too, that you took a walk with Ziva yesterday!! Or, was that a swim?

    1. It wasn't too terribly downpourish (may I coin a word?), and we both had fun! (My lips are sealed re: video.)

  4. In the third photo, it looks like diamonds are hanging from the pine tree. Your ability to focus the photo is so exceptional that I can even see a spider web. Brilliant.

    1. When I get a close look with a camera, I often find spider lines around leaves or flowers that attracted my eye for other reasons. I wish I found more complete webs! Thanks for noticing the little things!
