Sylvan Heights Bird Park, Part Four

Part four of photos from Sylvan Heights Bird Park, April 26.
It's all in the eyes! This duck's eye caught the light at an angle that showed it in the reflection in the pond.

Unlike a profile portrait of a human, a parrot's eye is full.

This stilt ran quickly enough that it was tough to catch it with any light in the eye. It makes the expression seem a little dull, but at least the posture gives the sense of motion.

Decoy or real? (Alive!)

Pale eyes, but nice feathers.

Whoa, bad hair day?

Dark eyes go well with such a bright bill.

Blue and yellow, complementary colors for maximum contrast.

You both look a little sleepy.

Didn't mean to startle you! Note how the pupils react independently to light levels.

Wink!

Daytime is sleep time.
