By the Huron River

Here are seven iPhone shots from a walk along the Huron River, October 12.

From inside the shady canopy of a hemlock:

This stump put me in mind of a miniature city.

  1. Your description of the tree trunk decaying as a minature city is perfect! I also enjoyed the reflection shots. I hope you didn't eat the Hemlock!

    1. I didn't nibble any hemlock, but saved some leaves and bark to brew tea. Just kidding! Actually, I think this is hemlock spruce, different from the plant that is so poisonous, but still not something that one would want to consume. I'll check with Socrates.

  2. How gorgeous! Thanks for the reminder to slow down and look around.

    1. Always a good thing if you have (or can make) the time.
