Ziva and more leaves

In today's wanderings down the Greenway with Ziva, I spotted another one of those crazy isolated fallen leaves that sometimes get caught in funny looking spots.  This was an unusually large interloper among the not-so-small evergreens.

When Ziva is relaxed and not actively searching for the location of a sound, the tops of her ears will flop in rhythm with her footsteps.  If I had something like a GoPro, I would arrange a doggie-neck-cam to show it from a close perspective.  This is my first stab at showing the effect through iPhone video, shot while we walked and I held the leash.  I used slow-motion, but at the beginning and the end you'll see a brief snatch of normal (walking) speed.

Next goals: to capture the excitement of a trot, then a gallop!

Later, she was ready for a nap, but that didn't mean the exercise was over for the day.

However, that's it for photos, for now.

    1. Oh, thank you for the support of my crazy idea! It could happen, but the book may happen first. My working title is "Viva Ziva Diva!", but we shall see...it will depend partly on what she and I see together.

  2. Given Ziva's upper body strength (Huskey sled-dog like), you could fashion a wheeled platform and just ride along behind her...

    1. On level ground, I'm sure she could handle it, but I don't think she would be so ready to do it as, say, a horse. On the other hand, Ziva does provide considerable assist through the leash when we run, even up hills! (Most people would just say "this dog pulls on the leash, needs training", but where's the fun in that?

    2. How about if you add some shock absorbers, side-rails, and a plexiglass dome (for avoiding leaf-thwacking on those off road squirrel chases)...then, it would work, right?

    3. I like your thinking! Reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes. Ziva has had some new adventures and brought me to some new photos, so as soon as I have time to post, the story will continue.
